Olá! My name is Susana Galli
I’m the creator of Portuguese PlayHub, a space where learning Portuguese is fun, meaningful, and truly child-centred.
With extensive experience working with children and years of teaching Portuguese online, I’ve developed a play-based, interactive approach inspired by how children naturally acquire language. My work is also informed by research into language fluency and how learners build confidence over time.
At Portuguese PlayHub, my focus is on helping children feel comfortable using Portuguese in real-life situations, while keeping lessons engaging, supportive, and enjoyable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Unlike traditional language lessons that focus on memorising vocabulary and grammar exercises, Portuguese PlayHub uses a play-based, speaking-first approach. Children learn through games, stories, and real-life situations inspired by life in Portugal, helping them build confidence while having fun. Small groups mean every child has plenty of opportunities to speak, participate, and receive individual support.
Five live online lessons each week (Monday to Friday)
A printable companion workbook with games and activities to reinforce what we learn and practice in class
Access to a private WhatsApp group for parents and the teacher, making it easy to communicate between lessons and access additional resources, such as songs, videos, and games.
Generally, we begin with a fun review game to revisit previous learning before introducing new vocabulary and language. Students will then practise what they've learned through engaging games, stories, and speaking activities inspired by real-life situations in Portugal.
This play-based approach helps to build confidence in using Portuguese naturally, rather than simply memorising vocabulary lists.
Each family also receives a companion printable workbook with optional activities to reinforce learning between lessons. The activities are designed to fit naturally into family life, making it easy to continue practising Portuguese together at home. When appropriate and available, other authentic resources are also suggested.
The course is designed for children aged 7-12 years who are learning European Portuguese.
Yes. The course is designed as a four-week programme, but you are welcome to book the weeks that best fit your family's summer plans.
The course cannot guarantee fluency, but it is designed to help children feel more confident using Portuguese in everyday situations and become familiar with language they can use in the first few weeks of their new life in Portugal.
A computer or tablet with a stable internet connection, a camera and microphone, Zoom installed, and the printed workbook before the first lesson.
We recommend that a parent or another responsible adult is nearby, especially during the first few lessons, to help with any technical issues or if their child needs support.
Parents are not expected to stay on camera or take part in the lesson, but we encourage them to show an interest in what their child is learning and to join in with some of the optional family activities at home.
Because the lessons are live and highly interactive, missed lessons cannot be made up. However, you'll receive the lesson presentation and additional resources through the parents' WhatsApp group so your child can review what was covered.
Complete the booking form with your preferred week(s) and your child's details. Once your booking is confirmed and payment has been received, you'll receive:
Zoom link
A link to the printable workbook
An invitation to the parents' WhatsApp group.
