I started teaching Portuguese as a foreign language in 2023 when we moved back to Portugal, after living in the UK for a few years. My aim was to help immigrant homeschooled children to integrate into their local community with easy accessible and speaking-rich lessons. I wanted to help them to feel at home in Portugal and enjoy everything this beautiful country and its culture has to offer! Nowadays, I teach children and teenagers from all backgrounds who are learning Portuguese in a playful and meaningful way.

My background is in early childhood education with a keen interest in child development and alternative education. Over the years I’ve been part of various youth organizations and taught English as a second language before coming to Portugal.

When I became a mother, in 2008, one of my top priorities was for my children to grow up bilingual. Back then, we were living in Scotland, and we were unsure if we could ever move to Portugal, so this was one of my top priorities and it became one of my passions to help other families to achieve that! Well, one baby turned into four, and we have been home-educating since then.

Portuguese PlayHub is the culmination of all of these, and I’m committed to keep improving and evolving. In my lessons, I strive to create a welcoming and interactive environment where every child can feel comfortable,  learn, speak and grow in confidence!
