My name is Susana Galli and I’m the creator of Portuguese PlayHub.
A place where learning Portuguese is fun and truly child-centred.
The driving force behind Portuguese PlayHub is to help children and young people connect with their local Portuguese community by giving them the language and confidence to communicate.
In 2020, when I returned to Portugal with my family, after several years in the UK, I noticed that many international homeschooling families struggled to engage with the local Portuguese community.
Without the natural daily interactions that school provides, children had fewer opportunities to use Portuguese in real life.
This led me to create online lessons focused on immersion and interaction with the language, designed specifically for children and teenagers.
This approach has resonated with many families, whether homeschooling or not, and I’ve taught children from many different contexts.
With a background in Early Childhood Education, years experience as a home-educating mother of four and teaching English online, I knew I could help international families with my classes and materials.
Portuguese PlayHub is the culmination of years of experience as an educator, research and personal experience. I’m committed to continually improve and maintain a welcoming space where everyone is comfortable to learn.
Language is the bridge that helps us become part of a community.
Portuguese PlayHub is here to help children and young people find a sense of belonging and feel at home in Portugal.
